A man has been reported for driving at a dangerous speed after he was detected 90km/h over the speed limit at Daveyston yesterday.
About 9.15pm on Sunday 14 February, Police were conducting speed detection duties on Sturt Highway when they detected a Holden sedan travelling at 200km/h in a 110km/h speed zone.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was submitted to a roadside screening test where he allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.126. Checks on his licence also revealed that he was disqualified from driving.
A 41-year-old man from Williamstown was reported for driving at a speed dangerous and drink driving.
He was issued a six month instant loss of licence and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
