Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards

Are you a part of a program, or know of one, that is helping to prevent crime and violence in Australia?

If it’s a yes, the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) wants to hear from you.

What are the Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards?

These prestigious annual awards recognise and reward programs that reduce crime and violence across Australia.

The awards encourage public initiatives and assist governments in identifying practical projects that contribute to community safety.

Who can be nominated?

Any government agency, not-for-profit organisation or individual person making a significant contribution to a project in Australia can be nominated for an award.

Projects may address specific groups such as rural and remote communities, women, children, youth, families, migrants, ethnic or Indigenous communities, or address specific issues such as alcohol-related violence.

Nominations can be submitted by police or community members involved.

How to nominate

Visit the AIC website for information on how to nominate and to learn more about the judging criteria and the selection process.

Submit your completed nomination form online by 5.00 pm AEST on Thursday, 17 April 2025.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted at Parliament House, Canberra in November 2025.
