The Firearms Branch role is primarily to ensure that only people who are fit and proper can own, use and sell firearms. The Branch is involved in administrating legislation in regards to the Firearms Act and Regulations and the Weapons Legislation.

The Branch is structured into four areas:

• Investigation Section
• Adjudication Section
• Registry Section
