Submission agreement

Required information

You must provide the following information to complete a lost property report:

  • your personal details
  • approximate date and time the property was lost
  • approximate location where it was lost (street and suburb or town)
  • description of each lost item e.g. manufacturer, model, serial number
  • total estimated value of all lost property
  • description of how the property was lost.

Make sure that you have included all the information required. You will not be able to go back to add or change information once you have started.

Conditions

You must read and agree to the following conditions before completing a lost property report:

  1. I acknowledge that I am not required by law to report lost property to police.
  2. I will provide information which is truthful to the best of my knowledge.
  3. I acknowledge that while SA Police will by law make every reasonable effort to determine and locate the owner of any found property, if it cannot be matched to the owner, then SA Police may dispose of unclaimed property after 42 days.
  4. I acknowledge that matters disclosed by me in the online lost property report may be investigated by police.
  5. I acknowledge that matters disclosed by me in the online lost property report may be used for purposes other than those directly related to the incident and consent to the release of this information. For example, South Australia Police may provide lost property data to other agencies for the benefit of prevention strategies and research.
