Break ins near Flinders Rangers

Three people have been arrested after an investigation into recent break ins and theft offences near the Flinders Rangers.

Sometime between 21 September and 16 November electrical items and traps were stolen from a National Park area.

Sometime between 24 October and 3 November a building at a mine site was broken into and tools and electrical items stolen.

Between 2 and 3 November a homestead was broken in to and tools and a generator stolen.
On Friday 5 November, following an investigation, police attended and searched a property at Hawker where they located a large amount of the stolen property. A small amount of ammunition was also located during the search.

Two men, a 27-year-old from no fixed place, and a 19-year-old from Renmark West were arrested at the property and have been charged with three counts of serious criminal trespass, theft and possess ammunition without a licence. They were both refused bail and will appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on Monday, 8 November.

On Saturday 6 November police conducted a search of a Berri property where they located further stolen items believed to be connected to the break ins.

An 18-year-old Riverland woman at the address was arrested and charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass and theft. She was bailed to appear at the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on 29 November.
