Health providers

This initiative provides the names of preferred health providers who have indicated a willingness to work with SAPOL in developing an understanding of the unique physical demands of police work.

The preferred health providers have individually applied to be on the list and have all undergone a range of checks including qualification verification, insurance verification, probity checks and are required to be a member of their respective professional association.

All preferred health providers on the list are required to take an evidenced based approach to treatment, give a clear diagnosis (if possible) as well as detail a treatment plan with a view to speeding up recovery.

Users will have the opportunity to rate the quality of service. This will enable future users of the list to make a more informed choice regarding the preferred health providers that best suit their personal needs.

Confidentiality is paramount. No information will be provided to SAPOL unless the employee believes it is in their best interest and asks the preferred health provider to share information with a view to better managing their health issue. Employee Assistance Section (Medical) can assist with advice.
