|Event Name||SA Police Historical Society Open Days|
|Start Date||21st May 2022|
|End Date||22nd May 2022|
The South Australian Police Historical Society is holding Open Days this Saturday (21 May) and Sunday (22 May) from 1.00 – 4.00 pm. Taking place at Thebarton Police Barracks, SAPOL staff and the general public are invited to tour the Historical Society’s police museum to learn about SAPOL’s rich history.
Usually the museum is only open to booked, guided tours but to celebrate History Month, the Historical Society’s volunteers are giving their time to ensure as many people as possible can make their way through the museum over the two days.
The museum boasts some fantastic displays including a new Dog Operations Unit display, and new information about the international policing deployments for the Christchurch earthquake.
Take this opportunity to explore Australia’s largest police museum. Tickets are just $10 for adults, with free entry for school aged children. No advance booking is required.
Find out more about the SA Police Historical Society on their website.
Please note that all persons entering SAPOL premises must be fully vaccinated. People entering this event may be required to display evidence that they have had the necessary vaccinations. Unvaccinated people will be required to undertake a RAT prior to entry.
There is no on-site parking at Thebarton Barracks. Parking is available in nearby streets such as Gaol Road and Port Road in the park and ride car park.
