SAPOL is once again offering a free road safety program for primary school aged children during the January school holidays.
The school holiday program was held for the first time earlier this year at the Road Safety Centre and proved very popular with more than 90 spots filling quickly.
While South Australian children have the opportunity to visit the centre as part of a school excursion, not all schools participate in this program. The free holiday program provides an additional opportunity for children to gain vital road safety education.
Participants in the two-hour program will have a classroom session, followed by a practical session of bicycle riding on the mock roadway to put into practice their new knowledge.
All equipment is supplied and the Road Safety Centre has a range of bicycles to cater for all riders.
Ten sessions, covering two age groups, are being offered at Thebarton Police Barracks, Port Road, Thebarton from 10.00 am to midday:
Spaces are limited, so to make a booking please contact the Road Safety Section via email at SAPOL.RoadSafetySection@police.sa.gov.au from 9am on Tuesday 11 December. Please include following details in the email:
A member of the Road Safety Section will then confirm your request.
Don’t forget, the mock roadway is available for public use throughout the school holidays – unless booked. To find out more visit the Road Safety Centre website.
