|Event Name||Lightsview Ride Like Crazy 2018|
|Start Date||14th Jan 2018|
|End Date||14th Jan 2018|
Registrations are now open for the Lightsview Ride Like Crazy 2018 cycling event, which will be held on Sunday, 14 January 2018.
Since the inaugural Ride Like Crazy in 2009, more than 12,000 riders have participated, raising an incredible $1.5 million for charity.
This will be the tenth and final ride for an event that started in 2009 as an idea from STAR Group members to support their workmate Senior Sergeant Mick 'Crazy' Koerner who was undergoing treatment for brain cancer. Sadly ‘Crazy’ lost his battle in November 2009, but the ride grew in popularity and soon became one of the most patronised community rides in South Australia.
In addition to supporting the Neurosurgical Research Foundation and Flinders Medical Centre Foundation, the Lightsview Ride Like Crazy 2018 will once again provide an opportunity for SAPOL and sponsors to promote wellbeing and road safety.
The 2018 ride will commence at the Unley Shopping Centre car park at 7.00 am and finish at Unley Oval. Participants can undertake the full ride (107 km) or start at Woodside and complete the half ride (51 km). There is also a ‘shortcut’ course of 91 km plus optional challenges for the Corkscrew and King/Queen of the Mountain. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all participants throughout the day and a community event will be held at Unley Oval to celebrate the finish of the ride.
Entry fees are $115 for adults and $55 for children. All riders will receive a Lightsview Ride Like Crazy jersey or polo shirt however, if you want to ensure you have your apparel to wear on the day of the ride, you must register by Sunday, 12 November 2017.
