A traffic stop early this morning has led to the arrest of a man and the recovery of numerous items of stolen property.
Just before 1.30am on Wednesday 14 August, police spotted a white Holden Commodore driving along Ashwin Parade, Thebarton. They followed the car which was billowing smoke to a home at Underdale.
Officers spoke to the driver and had cause to search his car where they uncovered 42 mobile phones and 19 laptops still in their packaging. A number of tools were also found in the car. The driver was subsequently arrested.
Police later received information of a break-in at a business on Main North Road at Prospect that occurred a short time prior to the traffic stop. The property seized is believed to have been stolen from the business.
A 34-year-old man from Davoren Park was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and going equipped to commit an offence. He was refused police bail and appeared in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
