Speeding rider arrested at Alberton

31 Oct 2020 6:26am

A motorcycle rider has been arrested overnight at Alberton.

Just after 10.30pm on Friday 30 October, patrols spotted a motorcycle with no registration plate and travelling at speed along Grand Junction Road at Pennington. Police did not pursue the rider and located him and the motorcycle a short time later on Port Road at Alberton.

Enquiries revealed the rider was in breach of his bail and he was arrested. Police will allege the man violently resisted during the arrest and patrols called for assistance.

The 47-year-old Goolwa Beach man was charged with speed dangerous, drive without number plates, resist police and breach of bail. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

One officer was treated at hospital for a minor injury to his hand.
