24 May 2019 1:30pm

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without due care after a fatal crash in Tumby Bay last week.

It is alleged that about 4.40am on Saturday 18 May, emergency services were called to a single vehicle rollover on Bratten Road, Tumby Bay, near the silos.

The accused, the driver of the Holden sedan, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.  Sadly, his passenger, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene.

Major Crash Investigators arrested and charged the 18-year-old man from the central Eyre Peninsula region about 11am on Friday 24 May. He was granted bail and will appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on 17 July.

Major Crash Investigators are asking anyone who may have information that would assist their inquiry – particularly in relation to any posts made by the accused on messaging apps prior to the crash - to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at
