Two arrested at Parkside construction site

23 Nov 2019 6:24am

Police have arrested two men after they were caught trying to steal items from a construction site at Parkside early this morning.

Just before 2.30am on Saturday 23 November, Eastern District patrols were called to a construction site on George Street after a security company reported seeing two men on live CCTV roaming through the secured premises.

Police quickly attended and cordoned the property.  Police Dog Nero was called in to assist with the search. A short time later he had sniffed out the two suspects who were attempting to hide in long grass in the yard.

Police will allege the two men had gathered copper wiring, insulation and building supplies ready to load them into a nearby van.

A 43-year-old man from Mile End and a 44-year-old man from Norwood were arrested for aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft and going equipped.  They were both bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 8 January.
