Man arrested for sacrilege

Man arrested for breaking into a church at Elizabeth Park early this morning.

At 1am, Thursday 30 July, police were called to Shillabeer Road after reports a man was seen jumping the fence of a church grounds.

Patrols quickly attended the scene and located property from the church on the ground. They searched the area and found a man carrying two guitars belonging to the church a short distance away.

The 19-year-old man from Elizabeth East was arrested and charged with sacrilege and theft he was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
