Local police in the Murray Bridge area have noticed a recent rise in theft from unlocked vehicles in the past week. Stolen credit cards have then been used to make unauthorised transactions.
The public are reminded to be vigilant in ensuring car doors are locked, windows are up and valuables are always removed from vehicles.
Valuables such as wallets, cash, credit cards and mobile phones/tablets should not be left unattended in cars, gloveboxes and consoles, on scooters, gophers or bicycles.
Trailers should be locked with a ball hitch lock to prevent theft.
Alarm or security systems may assist in preventing theft, in conjunction with locking vehicles.
