Man arrested over break-ins in Murray Bridge

A man appeared in court today charged over a series of break-ins at Murray Bridge.

About 1pm on Saturday 10 August, a resident confronted a man in the rear yard of their Burdekin Avenue, Murray Bridge home.  The man left without incident.

About 9.30pm on Saturday, an intruder was found in a rear room of a house on Swanport Road, Murray Bridge.  The man left when confronted by the victim and it was later discovered that lanyards and photo ID had been stolen.

About 8.40pm on Sunday 11 August, an unknown man was spotted climbing out of a window at a house in Galway Avenue, Murray Bridge.  Several items of clothing and a credit card had been stolen.  Police were called immediately and searched the area.

A short time later, police located the suspect walking along Homburg Drive, Murray Bridge.

The 27-year-old Murray Bridge man was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of theft, and unlawfully on premises.  He was refused police bail and appeared in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Monday 12 August.
