Youths arrested in stolen car

Thanks to calls from the public and good police work six youths have been arrested in a stolen car at Campbelltown early this morning.

Just after 4am on Wednesday 24 November a member of the public called police after noticing a group of youths in Teak Street checking car doors.

Patrols were quick to attend the area. They saw a green Holden sedan driving on Hancock Avenue, checks revealed the car had been stolen from Kensington overnight on Monday 22 November.

The car pulled into a driveway, the patrol were shocked to see six youths in the sedan.

All six youths, three girls one aged 12 and two aged 14 from Campbelltown, Salisbury Park and Evanston and three boys aged 12, 13 and 16 from Blakeview, Campbelltown and Parafield Gardens were arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle. The 13 year-old boy the alleged driver was also charged with driving unlicenced.

They have all been bailed to appear in court at a later date.
