Update: Suspicious shop fires at Mount Compass

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Mount Compass early this morning.

About 3.30am Saturday 18 June, police and MFS responded to reports of flames coming from a block of shops on Victor Harbor Road.

When crews arrived the fire was well involved taking hold on several shops within the complex. Fire crews worked to bring the blaze under control with at least two of the shops destroyed by the fire.

About $1,000,000 damage was caused to the shops and a home attached to the group.

Police Fire Cause Investigators attended and confirmed the fire as suspicious.

Victor Harbor Road was closed for several hours but has since reopened to all traffic.
