Update: Road open after fatal crash in the Barossa

Just after 5.30pm, Friday 17 March, patrols and emergency crews were called to the intersection of Light Pass Road and Basedow Road, after a motorcycle left the road and crashed into a tree.

The rider, a 59-year-old man from the Barossa, sadly died at the scene.

The intersection was closed for several hours while officers from Major Crash examine the scene, but it has since reponed to all traffic.

The man’s death is the 33rd life lost on our roads this year as compared to 16 for the same time last year.
