Update: Fatal crash Pooraka

11 Nov 2019 6:48am

The 16-year-old rider involved in a motorcycle crash over the weekend has died in hospital.

Just after 11.30am Saturday 9 November, police and emergency services were called to Maxwell Road after a blue Honda motorcycle with a solo rider hit a stobie pole.

Paramedics worked on the injured rider at the scene, before rushing the 16-year-old boy from Parafield Gardens to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, the teenager died from his injuries overnight.

Major Crash Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing to the rider of a blue Kawaski motorcycle that was travelling west on Maxwell Road at the same time as the injured rider, to please contact police as he may be able to assist in the investigation.

Police are also asking anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the two motorcycles travelling west on Maxwell Road prior to the crash to please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The boy’s death takes the State’s road toll to 94 compared to 63 at the same time last year.
