Update: Fatal crash at Hackham

Major Crash are investigating a fatal crash overnight at Hackham.

Just after 12.30am, Saturday 18 March, police and emergency crews were called to Main South Road after a Mitsubishi sedan and a Hyundai SUV crashed near Melsetter Road.

The driver of the Mitsubishi and his passenger, 17-year-old boys from Morphett Vale, were both taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 35-year-old woman from Aldinga Beach and two passengers, a 28-year-old woman from Onkaparinga Hills and a 30-year-old man from Morphett Vale, were all taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A third passenger, a 51-year-old woman from Glenelg, sadly died at the scene.

Main South Road was closed but is now open to all traffic.

The woman’s death is the 34th life lost on our roads this year as compared to 16 for the same time last year.
