Rock throwing Burton

Between April and May police have received a number of reports of rocks and other objects being thrown at homes and cars in the vicinity of Wattlebird Drive, Burton.

Northern District police with the assistance of Dog Operations members have attended on every occasion and conducted searches of the streets, wetlands, spoken to residents and door-knocked the area.

Proactive patrols of the Burton area have been regularly conducted by police, on one occasion rocks were heard landing in Wattlebird Drive while police were present, however due to darkness it was unknown what direction they were coming from.

Rock throwing is dangerous and reckless. Anyone who is found to have been involved in any of the incidents will face serious penalties including apprehension.

Anyone who witnesses this type of behaviour or sees any suspicious activity is asked to call police at the time on 131 444.

No suspects have been located at this time but police are following some positive lines of enquiry.
