Update: Man arrested for offences in Eastern suburbs

03 Dec 2019 8:52pm

A man has been arrested for robbery and theft following recent incidents in the Eastern suburbs earlier today.

About 2.45pm on Tuesday 3 December, Eastern District patrols were called to a service station on Greenhill Road at Linden Park after a man entered the store armed with two saws, threatened staff and stole cigarettes.  He was last seen walking east on Greenhill Road.

The staff member was not physically injured during the incident.

About 45 minutes later, police were called to a hotel on Glynburn Road, after reports a man entered the hotel with two saws and stole a bottle of alcohol before leaving the area on foot.

A search of the areas failed to locate the suspect.

Just after 7.30pm on Tuesday 3 December a resident on Arthur Street at Tranmere reported seeing a man behaving in an odd manner.  Police attended and located the man and will allege he was the suspect involved in the Linden Park robbery and Burnside hotel theft.

The 34-year-old man from Northfield was arrested and charged with robbery, theft and aggravated serious criminal trespass. He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday 4 December.
