Police dog Marley makes an arrest

19 Jun 2017 6:25am

Police have arrested a man following a crash at Wayville overnight.

Just after 12.30am on Monday 19 June, patrols were called to the intersection of Greenhill Road and Goodwood Road after a Subaru sedan crashed into a traffic light.

Witnesses reported the driver left the scene before patrols arrived.  Police dog Marley was called in to assist with a search and tracked the driver to a house in Adelaide where he was arrested.

The 29-year-old from Adelaide was breath tested and returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.226 - more than five times the legal limit.

He has been charged with aggravated due care, leave scene of an accident, drink driving and fail to truly answer questions.

The driver was not injured and is expected to be bailed later today and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
