A man was arrested after being seen loitering near a stolen car at Pooraka in the early hours of this morning.
Just after 4.30am on Wednesday 11 July, police were patrolling the Pooraka area when they spotted several people standing near a parked car near the corner of Bridge Road and Lincoln Crescent. They stopped to speak to them and one of the men jumped over a fence into the yard of a neighbouring home.
Police searched the area with the assistance of Police Dog Marley, who tracked the suspect down within a couple of streets.
Police checks revealed the silver Mitsubishi Colt had been reported stolen in the early hours of Monday morning from Mawson Lakes. The man's wallet was allegedly found inside the vehicle.
The 29-year-old Pooraka man was arrested and charged with illegal use, going equipped and breach of bail. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
