14 Mar 2019 5:08pm

A woman has died in hospital following a crash at McLaren Vale on Tuesday night.

Just after 9.30pm on Tuesday 12 March police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Seaview Road and Victor Harbor Road after a truck and a sedan collided head on.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old McCracken woman, sadly died of her injuries in hospital today.

The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old Findon man, was not injured.  He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.093 and is facing charges, which will now be upgraded to causing death by dangerous driving.

He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 24 April.

Anyone who witnessed the crash who has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au

The State's road toll is 25, compared to 16 at the same time last year.
