21 Nov 2022 4:50pm

Pursuant to Section 16 (1) of the Emergency Management Act 2004, this afternoon on Monday 21 November 2022 the State Coordinator for the State of South Australia, Commissioner of Police Grant Stevens, declared the River Murray flooding a major emergency.

The Major Emergency relates to flooding within the River Murray region. This declaration will remain in force for an initial period of 14 days.

The declaration enables authorised officers to utilise a range of authorities not normally available to them and supports the high level of coordination that is already occurring between all emergency services and other agencies.
