Car stolen during break-in at Highbury

09 Jun 2019 4:14pm

Police are investigating a break-in and theft at Highbury, where the victim was threatened with a knife.

About 8.20am today (Sunday 9 June), a man was at home when he saw a man sitting in his father’s silver 1997 Mercedes Benz sedan (SA registration S628AXJ), which was parked in the driveway of their home off Observation Drive.

When the victim went outside, he was threatened by another man armed with a knife.

The victim ran back inside, and the man armed with a knife got into a stolen white 2013 Mercedes Benz C300 sedan (SA registration S691AYO) parked on the street. Both sedans then drove away.

The victim later found that power tools and other items had been stolen from another area of his house.

The first suspect (seated in the silver Mercedes) is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, medium build, about 172cm tall, unshaven with short black hair, and was wearing a light blue jacket, and blue shorts.

The second suspect who drove off in the white Mercedes is described as being of Caucasian appearance, medium build, about 172cm tall, and was wearing a white bucket hat and white jacket with red trim on the shoulders.

Anyone who sees either vehicle, or has information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
