Arrests following drug raids in northern suburbs

12 Jan 2021 1:07pm

Four men have been charged over a number of illicit drug crops uncovered yesterday in the northern suburbs.

Detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch together with officers from across SAPOL, conducted a series of searches as part of Operation Glasshouse, an investigation into the large commercial cultivation of cannabis.

A total of eight semi-rural and northern suburbs properties were searched and a total of 3190 cannabis plants seized.  Several items of prescribed equipment were also seized.

A 42-year-old man from Virginia, a 40-year-old man from Paralowie, a 44-year-old man from Salisbury North and a 21-year-old man of n fixed address were all arrested and charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis.  They were all refused bail and appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

A 38-year-old man from Paralowie was also reported for cultivating cannabis. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Police will allege this was a continuous enterprise as the cannabis plants located were at various stages of maturity.

Anyone with information about the cultivation, sale or supply of illicit drugs is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at  You can remain anonymous.
