Arrest after woman stabbed at Elizabeth Park

Police are investigating an aggravated assault at Elizabeth Park this afternoon.

Just before 1pm on Sunday 1 December, police and emergency services were called to Innes Street after reports that a woman had been stabbed in the shoulder.

The victim, a 38-year-old Elizabeth Park woman was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury to her shoulder.

Police attended a nearby home and arrested a 53-year-old Elizabeth Park man. He was charged with aggravated assault that caused harm, he was granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 17 January.

The incident was not random and all parties are known to each other.
