Two drink drivers have lost their licences for 12 months after being caught at Coober Pedy this weekend.
At 8pm on Saturday 1 August, police stopped a vehicle on Williams Road, Coober Pedy for a mobile driver test. The driver, a 37-year-old Coober Pedy man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.193. He was also reported for driving while disqualified and drink driving and issued with 12 month instant loss of licence.
At 8.40pm on Sunday 2 August, police stopped a vehicle on Malliotis Boulevard, Coober Pedy. The driver, a 42-year-old Coober Pedy woman, recorded a blood alcohol reading more than five times the legal limit; 0.253. She was reported for drink driving, driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured and issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence.
Her car was also impounded for 28 days.
Both drivers will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
