Witnesses sought following crash

18 Jun 2017 6:47am

Police are currently searching the Elizabeth Vale area after a woman crashed a stolen car this morning.

Just before 5am, Sunday 18 June, police were called to the intersection of John Rice Avenue and Main North Road after a car collided with a light pole. Witnesses report the female driver ran from the scene with a small dog.

Patrols attended and searched the area with the assistance of police dog PD Argus but so far have been unable to locate the woman. The woman is described as Caucasian, with brown hair worn in a bun, carrying a small brown dog.

Checks on the crashed car, a white Volkswagen Caddy, revealed it was bearing altered number plates and had been stolen during a break-in at Morphett Vale in May.

Police are appealing to anyone that witnessed the collision or has information on the whereabouts of the woman to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
