21 Nov 2023 3:35pm

A man has been arrested after a luxury car was stolen from an Adelaide dealership.

Police will allege that just after 1.30am on Monday 20 November, police were called to a West Terrace car dealership after reports of an alarm activation.

On arrival the front doors to the showroom had been entered and a white Lexus sports coupe had been stolen.

The stolen vehicle drove through a rear fence to exit the premises.

A short time later the vehicle was found abandoned at St John Avenue, Renown Park.

Police searched the area but the suspect was not located at the time.

Crime Scene investigators examined the vehicle, and evidence linking a suspect was recovered.

Detectives searched several properties in the southern suburbs before locating the suspect at a Novar Gardens address last night.

A 43-year-old Edwardstown man was charged with serious criminal trespass, property damage, theft and driving unlicenced.

He did not apply for bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 21 November) where he was granted bail to appear in the same court on Friday 24 November.
