Man rushed to hospital after fall from city building

A young man is lucky to be alive after falling more than two stories in the CBD overnight.

Just before 2.30am, Friday 24 June, emergency crews were called to King William Street and Clarence Place, after a man is believed to have climbed a downpipe along the side of a building before the pipe snapped and he fell about 12 metres.

The 22-year-old from the inner Adelaide suburbs, was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is no longer considered life threatening.

Investigations by police revealed the man was one of a group of four friends who had been out in the CBD that night before the he made the foolish decision to climb up the building.
