A drink driver has had his car impounded and will face court after doing burnouts above the Hindley Street Police Station this morning.
About 2.30am Saturday 20 February Hindley Street patrols walking the beat heard a car driving erratically in the car park directly above the Hindley Street Police Station. Patrols went to investigate and saw a large amount smoke and the smell of burnt rubber inside the carpark.
Police stopped a green Holden Commodore leaving the carpark and spoke to the driver, a 42-year-old Paralowie man. He was breath tested allegedly returning a positive result of 0.120.
The man’s car was impounded for 28 days and he lost his licence on the spot for six months. He was reported for misuse of a motor vehicle and drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
