Today is World Kindness Day - an internationally observed day which aims to make the world a better place by highlighting good deeds and celebrating acts of kindness.
Neighbourhood Watch SA is perfectly placed in the community to recognise and promote acts of kindness – whether it’s helping out someone less fortunate, giving someone a card or a compliment, or simply being kind to your neighbours and the people around you.
2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, from the devastating bushfires through to the COVID-19 pandemic, and I’m sure we could all use a little bit of kindness to brighten up our days.
We encourage everybody to join together to help build a kinder and more compassionate community, and we thank all of our Neighbourhood Watch volunteers for their continued efforts in making our world a little bit nicer.
This year has presented its fair share of challenges for Neighbourhood Watch SA, with Neighbourhood Watch groups being unable to hold meetings or participate in community activities for much of the year. While some groups appear to be coming out of COVID restrictions relatively unscathed, others are still struggling. We encourage all of our groups to reach out to each other and show a little support and kindness.
So be kind to your neighbours, and be kind to your neighbouring Neighbourhood Watch groups.
