Home and building site security

Neighbourhood Watch is about encouraging everyone to live in a safe and connected community. No matter where you live it is important to remember how to keep yourself, your home and your family safe but it is also beneficial to everyone for you to think beyond your front gate. Other members of your community, local businesses and new developments are also a part of the community.

Building sites are a target for opportunistic thieves who look for building materials, electrical items and tools that are quick to grab and go.  Unlocked doors and windows, or unsecured tools and materials left out around a building site only help these thieves help themselves.

Sergeant Andrew Skein and Senior Constable Shannan Herbert from SA Police were featured in a recent episode of ‘Building Ideas’ with some valuable tips on home and building site security. Watch video (fast forward to the 6 minute mark).
