Month-long operation to address rising road toll

South Australia Police has launched Operation ‘High Impact F5,’ an intensive traffic enforcement operation running for 4 weeks from today until Wednesday 11 December 2019.

The state-wide operation will target the fatal five offences of:

  • drink and drug driving
  • speeding
  • distraction
  • seatbelts, and
  • dangerous road users.

The Operation was originally scheduled to run later this year, but has been pushed forward as a direct response to the rapid increase we are seeing in fatalities on South Australian roads.

Along with enforcement, South Australia Police will also be ramping up our focus on media and marketing in the road safety space to address the devastating loss of life.

We have also launched a road safety awareness campaign known as ‘Remember or Be Remembered,’ which is a direct response to the escalating road toll.

Roadside tributes remind us all of what can happen on the roads and this advert brings this potent reminder into the living rooms of South Australians. It’s better to remember to drive safely than to be remembered.

The commercial will hit television screens and digital media, and you can view it below.
