Handy tips to help keep travellers safe

If you travel or holiday in our state and use a caravan or recreational vehicle (RV) for your accommodation then this is essential reading.

SA Police has created a new Caravan and Recreational Vehicle Security booklet, in partnership with Neighbourhood Watch SA and the Caravan and Camping Industries Association of SA Incorporated, that is packed with simple security and crime prevention tips to assist you in protecting your property and help you feel safer and secure.

The booklet has been designed to be used as a security and safety checklist to help make your travels be as crime free as possible. In the booklet you’ll find:

  • security and safety tips prior to leaving for your adventure
  • security tips during your trip’
  • securing your caravan or RV upon returning home
  • a ‘property record’ so you can write a list of all your valuable possessions that you are taking with you.

It also has helpful information on bushfire and emergency safety. Our website version of the booklet is interactive, so you only need to click on the titles in the index or on the highlighted websites to be taken directly to that page.

Pick up a booklet today from your local police station, caravan park or most tourist information centres throughout South Australia or download a copy

Wishing your travels are fun, safe and ‘secure’!
