Security Companies Resources

The two documents on this page have been created to assist you in your requirements to supply a Risk Assessment when you either apply for a security handgun licence or are renewing your licence. It also contains blank documents that you can use in completing your own risk assessment.

The document Risk Assessment Explanation sets out what is required when completing a Risk Assessment.

The document Risk Assessment Framework is provided to give further explanation, especially in relation to the diagram on page 12 which relates how to establish the context and then address the risk.

The link below has been provided to further assist you in relation to the existing guidelines that have been established by SafeWork SA.

Security Companies are also reminded of their obligations to ensure that they are compliant with the federal legislation that relates to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Bill 2006 (which can be found at http://www.comlaw.gov.au). Penalties for non compliance start at $3 million for an individual and range up to $11 million for a company.
