South Australia Police (SAPOL) recognizes road safety is everyone's responsibility and aims to increase the safety of all road users by reducing death and injury on South Australian roads. By taking the lead in relation to road safety, SAPOL will work with the community to educate road users through enforcement of legislation including the Criminal Law (Clamping, Impounding and Forfeiture of Vehicles) Act 2007.
This Act provides SAPOL with powers to take action against drivers who commit prescribed offences as defined in the Act. The Act also contains provisions enabling SAPOL to apply to the Magistrates Court for forfeiture of a vehicle when certain criteria are met.
