The display can be tailored to suit different event themes with a selection of brochures and handout material available from various government departments.

It can be held at both indoor and outdoor venues, is available both week days and weekends, and for events over several days.

Examples of successful and effective displays include:

  • Royal Adelaide Show
  • Riverland Field Day
  • Lucindale Field Day
  • Mount Gambier Show

Voluntary breath testing

Police officers from the Traffic Training Section can provide education about drink driving issues at community-based events where alcohol is available. People attending the event can undergo voluntary breath testing to obtain a breath alcohol result, subject to a disclaimer advising the person that the test is accurate at the time, but is subject to change over time.  Advice is given about the absorption rate and elimination rate of alcohol.

Police use the same equipment used by patrols and can dismiss many 'urban myths' associated with the consumption of alcohol and its effect on a driver.

Examples of successful and effective displays include:

  • Norwood Food and Wine Festival
  • Oakbank Racing Carnival
  • Kangaroo Island Cup
  • Berri Food and Wine Festival

Organisers of these events have found this to be a very popular and worthwhile display that does not detract from the theme of the event.
