Riverland Local Service Area

The Riverland is a unique Local Service Area (LSA) consisting of five multi member and five single person stations. The LSA is approximately 32,109km2 and has over 38,700 people made up of about 50 different nationalities. They are staffed by 85 sworn and 8 non sworn employees.

The Sturt Highway and Mallee Highway are the main arterial roads in the LSA giving ample opportunity for the proactive approach to traffic policing in line with SAPOL's road safety strategy 2006-2010. The dynamic team in place in the Riverland LSA is moving towards a new era in policing and is committed to crime reduction. All staff are encouraged to be innovative and seek out new strategies to reduce crime and provide positive outcomes for the LSA. The Riverland LSA is committed to continuous improvement and is building a culture based on achievement. This culture is underpinned by a commitment to 'career long' learning. The provision of quality training is one of our highest priorities. All members within the LSA are valued and supported by management and input into LSA activities is encouraged.
