Barossa Yorke Local Service Area

Barossa Yorke Local Service Area covers an area of 15,699 square kilometres with a resident population of approximately 67,000.  The headquarters station at the Nuriootpa Police Complex is supported by significant police stations at Kadina and Clare with an additional 17 police stations.   Policing is coordinated through two operational areas:

  • Barossa Operations, based out of Nuriootpa coordinates police stations in the districts of Nuriootpa, Clare, Mount Pleasant, Williamstown, Freeling, Kapunda, Eudunda, Riverton, HamleyBridge and Balaklava.
  • Yorke Operations is based out of Kadina and coordinates the police stations in the districts of CopperCoast, Port Wakefield, Port Victoria, Maitland, Ardrossan, Minlaton, Yorketown, Edithburgh and Stansbury.

The LSA provides a customer focused service to its residents as well as a significant number of visitors to the very high profile tourist areas of the Barossa and ClareValleys and the Yorke Peninsula.
