The Northern Operations Service is responsible for the provision of policing services at the local level. They promote a problem-solving approach in order to quickly and efficiently respond to incidents and calls for assistance. The Northern Operations Service in general covers that part of the metropolitan area north of the River Torrens and the country areas north of Adelaide, providing an operational policing service to a greater proportion of the State. The Service is divided geographically into eight Local Service Areas (LSA): The Northern Operations Executive is based at the Holden Hill Police Complex and provides additional support to the LSA's in the areas of policing, operations coordination, operations planning, finance, administrative planning, multicultural services and intelligence co-ordination. Focus within Northern Operations Service has been on working together within the community to reassure and protect them from crime and disorder. With this focus a number of initiatives and operations have been conducted with the view of providing the most innovative, modern and progressive service possible in a cost effective and practical manner. |
