State Intelligence Branch

The State Intelligence Branch (SIB) consists of a number of sections which provide SAPOL with specialist criminal intelligence services.

These sections include:

Intelligence Analysis Section

Provides the information and intelligence that sets the overall strategic intelligence requirements of SAPOL

Visual Intelligence and Publications Unit

Maintains a library of photographs for criminal identification.

BankSA Crime Stoppers

A crime reduction strategy that has established itself as the most successful crime stoppers program in Australia, with a strike rate of one apprehension for every seven calls to the toll free number. The unit provides a facility for members of the public to make anonymous reports about active criminals and to receive a monetary reward based on police results.
