Organised Crime Investigation Branch

The primary purpose of Organised Crime Investigation Branch is to establish South Australia as an increasingly hostile place in which to conduct the business of organised crime or commit serious crime. conducts targeted investigations and operations into the business of organised crime groups.

The Branch comprises of:

  • Organised Crime Investigation Section
  • Tasked Force

Objectives

The main focus is to detect and disrupt serious organised criminal activity and dismantle organised crime networks by:

  • identifying and targeting those who control or are otherwise involved in the business of organised crime, prosecuting them with a view to imprisonment, confiscating their profits and assets and interdicting their illegal commodities; and to
  • prevent and deter future criminal activities and the growth of organised criminal networks by dismantling the criminal circles in they operate, dissuading the professional relationships upon which they depend.
