Core Strategies

Our core strategies provide practical definition to improve service delivery.  They ensure services are delivered to the community in a consistent manner to meet expectations.

All service delivery strategies are therefore linked directly to our core strategies, comprising:

Community Support- sustaining community support for the delivery of police services;

Problem Solving- adopting a problem solving approach in the delivery of police services;

Accessibility- establishing police services that are reasonably accessible to the community;

Response- responding efficiently and effectively to emergencies and calls for assistance;

Detection & Deterrence- deploying personnel for the effective detection and deterrence of crime, public disorder and road traffic offences;

Investigation- establishing systems and structures for the efficient and effective investigation of crime and public disorder.

Problem solving is a professional approach and a way of thinking and acting so that we add value to the way we traditionally carry out our core functions.

Problem solving begins at the local level where our people work with the community to identify issues, develop and implement appropriate strategies and achieve and evaluate results.

Continuing through every level of the organisation, problem solving is integrated into everything we do.
