Suspicious car fire in Whyalla Stuart

Just after 6.10 pm, Monday 18 May, Police and fire crews were called to Nykiel Street after reports a vehicle was on fire in the rear yard.

When patrols and MFS arrived, a Holden Sedan and Jeep SUV were alight and had spread to nearby guttering.

MFS extinguished the blaze which destroyed the Holden and Jeep and caused minor damage to the outside of the property.

An occupant of the home was treated for minor smoke inhalation.

Crime Scene Investigators and local Detectives attended the scene to conduct an examination to determine the cause of the fire which police are treating at suspicious.
